Introduct~on
This report concerns award of b~d for one ~ndustrlal wheel loader
w~th grapple for the Fecreatlon & Parks Department ln the total
amount of $19,074.70, includlng appl~cable sales tax.
Background
In response to publlshed Notlces Invit~ng Blds (pub11shed January
18 and 19, 1986) to furnlsh and dellver one ~ndustrial wheel
loader wlth grapple in accordance with C~ty speciflcat~ons, bids
were recelved and publlcly opened and read on February 20, 1986.
Proposal forms were mal led to f~ve vendors and notices were ad-
vert~sed in accordance wlth clty Charter and Munlclpal Code pro-
v~slons. Two proposals were recelved as follows:

$19,074.70
Eberhard Equ1pment
$21,625.89
This ltem was originally b1d ln November 1985 and only one bid
was rece~ved for $21,625.89. Councll therefore reJected that bid
and dlrected staff to re-b~d the ltem. Staff has studied the bld
and flnds that it meets or exceeds the spec~flcations.
