SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Debris Hauling
Service, Bid #2122
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of a bid to provide debris hauling
service for a one-year period for the Water Division, General
Services Department at specified unit prices including two
one-year renewal options.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published July 16
and 17, 1987) to provide debris hauling service in accordance
with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read on July 28, 1987, at 3:00 p.In.
Proposal forms were
mailed to seven vendors and notices were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals
were received as follows:
saied Trucking Co. $8.75 per cubic yard
*Erick & Sons Transportation $9.48 per cubic yard
*WMBE vendor

staff has reviewed the bids and finds that Saied Trucking Co.
meets our specifications.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1987/88 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Water Division, General Services Department, account
number 25-500-671-000-638. For the period July 1, 1987, through
June 30, 1988, the appropriation authority will be as set forth
in the fiscal year 1987/88 budget.
For the period of July 1,
1988, through July 31, 1988, the appropriation authority will be
set forth in the fiscal year 1988/89 budget.
RECOlIMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2122 be made to Saied
Trucking Co. at specified unit prices with two one-year renewal
options, as the lowest and best bidder.
