SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver One
(1) Wheel Loader with Slide Backhoe, Bid Number 2152
INTRODUCTION
ThlS report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
wheel loader with slide backhoe for the Water Division, General
Services Department in the total amount of $27,653.00 including
appllcable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
October 22 and 23, 1987) to furnish and deliver one (1) wheel
loader with slide backhoe In accordance with City specifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read on November 10,
1987. Proposal forms were mailed to six vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with Ci ty Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:

Glenn B. Darning, Inc.
staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets city
specifications and is below budget estimates.

BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1987/88 appropriation authority for this purchase is
In the Water Division, General Services Department, account
number 25-500-671-000-801.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2152 be made to Eberhard
Equipment in the total amount of $27,653.00 including tax, as the
lowest and best bidder.
