SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Miscellaneous Meter Boxes and Vaults, Bid Number 2151
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
miscellaneous meter boxes and vaults for the Water Division,
General Services Department at specified unit prices, including
applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
October 22 and 23, 1987) to furnish and deliver miscellaneous
meter boxes and vaults in accordance with city specifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read on November 10,
1987.
Proposal forms were mailed to three vendors and notices
were advertised in accordance with ci ty Charter and Municipal
Code provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:
Cost of a representative array of meter boxes and vaults
Eisel Enterprises, Inc.
$27,516.19
Brooks Products, Inc.
$31,156.58

This bid consists of miscellaneous meter boxes and vault covers.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets city
specifications.
BUpGETARY/FINANCIAL IMP~cr
As the materials are drawn out of inventory, they will be
expensed agalnst available FY 1987/88 appropriation authority in
the Water Division, General Services Department. For the period
July 1, 1988, through November 30, 1988, funds will be as set
forth in the FY 1988/89 budget.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2151 be made to Eisel
Enterprises, Inc. at specified unit pricesl including tax, as the
lowest and best bidder.
