Introduction
ThlS report concerns award of bid for transit mixed concrete at the
unlt price bld for the perlod November 1, 1982 through October
31, 1983. Funds for such purchases are budgeted In account number
01-500-421-000-414 ~ Stree~~).\
Background
In response to published Notlce Inviting Blds (publlshed 10-6-82)
to furnish and deliver transit-mixed concrete in accordance
wlth Clty specificatlons, blds were received and publlc1y opened
and read on October 21, 1982. Proposal forms were malled to
nlneteen vendors and notices were advertlsed In accordance wlth
Clty Charter and Municipal Code provlslons. One proposals
was recelved from Llvingston-Graham, Inc., at the fo1lowlng unlt
prices:
P.U.C. zones 156,166,185,186 ......... .$39.03 per cu. yd.
F.O.B. Bidder's Plant... .....$34.03 per cu. yd.
Livingston-Graham, Inc. has a close operating batching plant to
Santa Monlca than other bldders sollclted. Others apparently felt
they could not compete at thlS tlme.
Recommendatlon
It lS recommended that the award of Bld ~ 1810 for Transit Mixed
Concrete be made to Llvingston-Graham Inc., Santa Monica
Callfornla, at the unit prices bid for the period November 1, 1982
through October 31, 1983.
