Introduct1on
ThlS report concerns award of b1d for one Street Sweeper 1n the
total amount of $70,252.73, 1nclud1ng applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to pub11shed Notices Inviting B1ds (publ1shed Septem-
her 10 and 11, 1985) to furnlsh and deliver one Street Sweeper in
accordance wlth C1ty specif~cat1ons, bids were rece1ved and
publ1cly opened and read on October 1, 1985. Proposal forms were
malled to SlX vendors and notlces were advert1sed ln accordance
wlth Clty Charter and Mun1clpal Code provlsions. Two proposals
were rece1ved as follows:

PUBLIC WORKS, INC.
$70,252.73
The speclf1cat1ons requested a gasol1ne engine. The Haaker
Equipment Company bld a diesel eng1ne and a larger unlt that ex-
ceeded the speclflcatlons. ThlS lS the reason for the large d1f-
ferentlal 1n the blds.
