SUBJECT: Recommendation To Award Bid For Janltorial Paper Supplies
Bid No. 1804
Introduction
Th1s report concerns award of bid for mlsce11aneous janltorial paper
supplies at the unit pr1ces for the period November 1, 1982 through
October 31, 1983 with two one-year optlons. Such purchases are
charged to 1nventory account number 01-955-002-000-000 (~entral
warehouse) \ When mater1als are withdrawn from 1nventory, they are
--charged to the users, who budget lndlvidual1y for such acquisitlons.
Backg-round
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids (published 10-6-82)
to furnlsh and de11ver miscellaneous ]an1torlal paper products in
accordance w1th C1ty specifications, bids were rece1ved and publlCly
opened and read on October 21, 1982.
Proposal forms were ma11ed to
thirty-eight vendors and notlces were advertised in accordance with
City Charter and Municipal Code prov1s1ons. Eight proposals
were rece1ved as shown on the attached schedule.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of B1d # 1804 for Jan1torial
Paper Supplies be made to Cal-W1pe, Inc., Los
Angeles, Californla on items 1 and 7 and Gale Supply Co., Los
Angeles, California on ltems 2,3,4,5,6 and 8 at the unit prices
quoted for the perlod(s) covered, as the lowest and best bidders
on the noted ltems.
