SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Sealed Coin Boxes, Bid Number 2146.
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver sealed
coin boxes, that fit into the parking meters, for the Traffic
operations Division, General Services Department at specified
unit prices, including applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 14 and 15, 1987) to furnish and deliver sealed coin
boxes in accordance with City specifications, bids were received
and publicly opened and read on October 6, 1987. Proposal forms
were mailed to two vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two
proposals were received as follows:

staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets bid
specifications.

BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1987/88 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Traffic Operations Division, General Services Department,
account number 01-500-416-000-311.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2146 be made to Duncan
Industries at specified unit prices, including tax, as the lowest
and best bidder.
