SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Miscellaneous Air, Oil and Fuel Filters, Bid Number
2140.
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
miscellaneous air, oil and fuel filters, for the Transportation
Department at specified unit prices including applicable sales
tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
Septe:rnber 2 and 3, 1987) to furnish and deliver miscellaneous
air, oil and fuel filters in accordance with city specifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read on September 15,
1987. Proposal forms were mailed to six vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with Ci ty Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:

Staff has evaluated the bids and finds Hausman Bus Sales meets
specifications and is low bidder.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
As the materials are drawn out of inventory # they will be
expensed against available FY 1987/88 appropriation authority in
the Transportation Department.
For the period July 1, 1988
through October 31, 1989 # funds will be as set forth in the
FY 1988/89 and FY 1989/90 budgets.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2140 be made to Hausman
Bus Sales at specified unit prices including tax, as the lowest
and best bidder.
