INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (l)
low-entry side loading refuse truck for the Solid Waste Manage-
ment Division, General Services Department in the total amount of
$84,017.85 including applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published August
27 and 28, 1987) to furnish and deliver one (1) low-entry side
loading refuse truck in accordance with City specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read on september 15, 1987.
Proposal forms were mailed to seven vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with city Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:

$86,479.06
Refuse Trucks Inc.
staff has evaluated 'the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications and is below budget estimates.
