Background In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published August 25,26, 1986) to furnish , deliver and install office furniture in accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on September 9, 1986. Proposal forms were mailed to ten vendors and notices were advertised in accor- dance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Four proposals were received as follows: price Including Furnish, Vendor Deliver and Install Gateway Business Interiors $45,562.65 Universal Business Interiors $46,027.15 (WMBE) Garrett Industrial $48,968.11 t-p OCT 1 4 1986 - 1 - united Business Interiors $51,016.12 (WMBE) Gateway Business Interiors is the lowest and best bidder. There- fore staff recommends that the bid be awarded to Gateway Business Interiors. BUdgetary/Financial Impact Fiscal Year 1986/87 appropriation authority for this purchase is in the General Government Category of the Capital Improvement Program budgetl account number 01-710-451-240-936, "Information Systems Remodel" Recommendation It is recommended that the award of Bid # 2076 be made to Gateway Business Interiors in the total amount of $45,562.65 including taxI as the lowest and best bidder.
