SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver One
(1) New 1987 Ambulance Vehicle, Bid #2096
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one new
ambulance vehicle for the Fire Suppression Division of the Fire
Department in the total amount of $28,809.53, including
applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published Decem-
ber 23, 24, 1986) to furnish and deliver one new 1987 ambulance
vehicle in accordance with city specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read on January 8, 1987. Pro-
posal forms were mailed to eighteen vendors and notices were ad-
vertised in accordance with city Charter and Municipal Code pro-
visions. Four proposals were received as follows:

staff has evaluated the bids and finds that superior Trans Med
meets our specifications and is within the budget estimate.
BUdgetary/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1986/87 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Fire Suppression Division of the Fire Department, account
number 01-310-313-000-806.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2096 be made to Superi-
or Trans Med in the total amount of $28,809.53, including ap-
plicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
