SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver One
(1) New Special Dump Truck with Front Loader, Bid 2197
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new special dump truck with front loader for the Solid Waste
Management Division, General services Department, in the total
amount of $85,932.72, including applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 16 and 19, 1988) to furnish and deliver one (1) new
special dump truck wi th front loader in accordance with Ci ty
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on October 11, 1988. Proposal forms were mailed to fifteen (15)
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Three proposals were
received as follows:

city specification.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1988/89 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the General Government Category of the city's Capital Budget,
account number 27-710-441-000-915, "Refuse Vehicle Replacement. I'
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid t2197 be made to
Universal Mack Sales and Service, Inc. in the total amount of
$85,932.72, including tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
