SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Trimming and
Root Pruning of Ficus Trees, Bid Number 2147
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to provide trimming and root
pruning of Ficus trees for the Recreation and Parks Department at
specified unit prlces.
BACKGROUND
In response to publlshed Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 28 and 29, 1987) to provide trimming and root pruning
of Ficus trees in accordance with city specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read on October 13, 1987.
Proposal forms were mailed to six vendors and notlces were
advertlsed in accordance Wl th city Charter and Munic1pal Code
provisions. Three proposals were received as follows:

"Tree Trlmming" and account number 01-740-155-000-923, "street
Tree Root pruning.1I
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2147 be made to Travers
Tree Service, Inc. at specified unit prices, as the lowest and
best bidder.
