SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Labor to Repair,
Reconstruct and Rehabilitate Fifteen (15) Flxible
Coaches, Bid Number 2127
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to provide labor to repair,
reconstruct and rehabilitate fifteen (15) Flxible Coaches for the
Transportation Department in the total amount of $248,100.00 plus
applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to pUblished Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 15 and 16,
1987)
to provide labor to repair,
reconstruct and rehabilitate fifteen (15) Flxible Coaches in
accordance with city specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on October 8, 1987. Proposal forms were
mailed to four vendors and notices were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three proposals
were received as follows:

Complete Coach Works
$265,500.00
Los Angeles Freightliner

specifications and is below budget estimates.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1987/88 funds for this purchase are in the the
Capital Improvement Program budget, Municipal Bus Lines program
category,

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2127 be made to
cinedyne, Inc. in the total amount of $248,100.00 plus tax, as
the lowest and best bidder.
