SUBJECT. Recommendation to Award Bid for A New 10,000Gross Volume
Weight Service Truck with Crane Bid No. 1694
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for a service truck and
crane in the total amount of $30,263.00 including applicable sales
tax Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account
number 25-500-671-000-804 (Water Division)
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver one new service truck with crane in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read on November 3, 1981 Proposal forms were mailed to
thirteen dealers and notices were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions One proposal
was received from Claude Short Dodge as follows: One 1982
Dodge D350 Truck, 10,000 G~v in accordance with specifications
$27,800 00 10,500 G~v Chassis available for an additional $750.00
Staff has investigated this 10,500 GVW chassis which has just
become available with the 1982 model change over and feels that it
is well worth the $750.00 difference in price from the 10,000 GVW
chassis specified
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Claude Short Dodge Co ,
Santa Monica, California in the total amount of $30,263.00,
including tax, as the lowest and best bidder. including the up-
graded speCificationstJto ~fOO GVW chassis.

the total amount of $28,355.00 including applicable sales tax.
Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account number
01-300-311-000-802 (Fire)

deliver one new ambulance in accordance with City specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read on October 29, 1981.
Proposal forms were mailed to ten vendors and notices were advertised
