Recommendation to Award Bid To Furnish Rebuilt
Exchange Main Brooms and Side Broom Segments For
Mobile Sweepers, Bid # 2083.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish rebuilt exchange
main brooms and side broom segments for mobile sweepers for the
General Services Department at specified unit prices including
applicable sales tax and two one year renewal options.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published Septem-
ber 15,16,1986)
to furnish rebuilt exchange main brooms and
side broom segments for a one year period in accordance with city
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on September 30, 1986. Proposal forms were mailed to eight ven-
dors and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter
and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were received as
follows:

Budgetary/Financial Impact
As the materials are purchased they will be expensed against
available FY 1986/87 appropriation authority, account number 01-
500-461-000-292, in the Fleet Management Division, General Ser-
vices Department. For the period July 1, 1987 thru October 28,
1987 appropriation authority will be as set forth in the Fiscal
Year 1987/88 budget.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2083 be made to
San Diego Rotary Broom Co., Inc., at the specified unit prices
including sales tax and two one year renewal options.
