Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new wheel loader with I-yard bucket and material grapple for the
Solid Waste Management Division, General Services Department, in
the total amount of $23,105.18, including applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 14 and 15, 1989) to furnish and deliver one (1) new
wheel loader with I-yard bucket and material grapple in
accordance with city specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on October 12, 1989.
Proposal forms
were mailed to six vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Five
proposals were received as follows:

This vehicle will ~ used for brush pickup an!lteplaces a 16-year
old tractor. Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it
meets City specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1989/90 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Solid Waste Management Division, General Services
Department, account number 27-500-441-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2244 be made to Glenn B.
Dorning, Inc. in the total amount of $23,105.18, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
