(1) New 16,500 Gross Vehicle Weight Cab and Chassis
with Special service Body and Mounting of 28 ft.
Personnel Lift, Bid 2090
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new 16,500 gross vehicle weight cab and chassis with special ser-
vice body and mounting of a 28 ft. personnel lift for the Elec-
trical Facilities Division, General Services Department in the
total amount of $34,308.98, including applicable sales tax and
delivery.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published October
30, 31, 1986) to furnish and deliver one (1) new 16,500 gross
vehicle weight cab and chassis with special service body and
mounting of a 28 ft. personnel lift in accordance with city
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on November 18, 1986.
Proposal forms were mailed to ten (10)
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with city
Charter and Municipal code provisions.

A similar bid issued on 9/09/86 was rejected due to the receipt
of only one bid proposal in the amount of $49,271.16. The item
was rebid in late October 1986 as noted above. The low bid from
Thorson GMC Buick Inc. does meet specifications and is below bud-
get estimates.
BUdgetary/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1986/87 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Electrical Facilities Division, General Services Depart-
ment, account number 01-500-453-000-806.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid # 2090 be made to Thorson
GMC Buick Inc., in the total amount of $34,308.98 including sales
tax and delivery, as the lowest and best bidder.
