SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Miscellaneous Stationery Supplies, Bid #2153
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
miscellaneous stationery supplies for a one-year period at
specified unit prices and percentage discounts plus applicable
sales tax and renewal options for two additional years.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
December 3 and 4, 1987) to furnish and deliver miscellaneous
stationery supplies in accordance with city specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read on January 12, 1988.
Proposal forms were mailed to 14 vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Three proposals were received as follows:

The ~ terns covered by this b~d include a variety of stationery
supplies ordered on a repetltive basis by all departments. Staff
has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1987/88 appropriation authority for this purchase is
ln the offlce supplles expense accounts of various departments.
For the period July I,
1988,
through February 28,
1989,
appropriation authority will be as set forth in the FY 1988/89
budget.
RECOMHENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2153 be made to Eastman,
Inc. at specified unit prices and percentage discounts plus tax,
with renewal options for two additional years, as the lowest and
best bidder.
