Two (2) Cubic Yard Metal Refuse Containers - Automatic
Dump with Adjustable Leach Bar, Bid #2086
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver 75 two
(2) cubic yard metal refuse containers - automatic dump with ad-
justable leach bar as requested by the Solid Waste Management
Division, General Services Department in the amount of $26,778.09
including applicable sales tax and delivery.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published October
16, 17, 1986) to furnish and deliver 75 two (2) cubic yard metal
refuse containers in accordance with City specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read on October 30, 1986.
proposal forms were mailed to three vendors and notices were ad-
vertised in accordance with city Charter and Municipal Code pro-
visions. The WMBE directory did not contain any firms in the
container business. Two proposals were received as follows:

Staff has evaluated the bids and finds that the bid from Consoli-
dated Fabricators does meet our specifications.

BUdgetary/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1986/87 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Solid Waste Management Divisionl General Services Depart-
ment, account number 27-500-441-000-425.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2086 be made to Consoli-
dated Fabricators corp. in the total amount of $26,778.09 includ-
ing sales tax and delivery, as the lowest and best bidder.

awarded to S & S Welding Company at $42.00 per hour as specified
for a one-year period with two one-year renewal options to
furnish portable welding services for the Water Division.
