SUBJECT Recommendation to award bid for 27,500 G~~ Cab and
Chassis onlv and 27,500 G\~~ Cab and C~assis W/~ump Body
Bid No 1557
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for 27,500 GVW Cab and Chassis
only and 27,500 G\~ Cab & Chassis W/Dumo Body in the total a~ount
of $47,249.50 including applLcable sales tax. Funds for this pur-
chase have been budgeted in account number 38-500-671-000-950.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver 27 ,500 G~~ Cab and Chassis and 27,500 G\~~ Cab & Chassis W!
Dump body in accordance with City Specifications, bids were received
and publicly opened and read Nove~ber 18, 1980. Proposal forms were
mailed to thirteen vendors and notices were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three proposals
were received as sho~~ on the recap sheet
Recofl1lTlendation
It is recommended that the award be made to GMC Truck and Coach
for $44,575 Plus $2,674,50 sales tax for a total amount of
$47.249 50, as the lowest and best bidder.
