SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Two (2) Detroit
Diesel Engines for the Transportation Depart~ent
Bid No. 1554
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for Two (2) Detroit Diesel
Engines in the total a~ount of $25,217.40. including applicable
sales tax. Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in
account number 98-600-651-000-221.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver two (2) Detroit Diesel Engines in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publiclv opened and
read December 9, 1980. Proposal forms were mailed to four
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with Citv Charter
and Municipal Code provisions Two (2) proposals were received
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Covington Diesel, Inc
in the total amount of $25,21 40, including tax, as the lowest
and best
