SUBJECT. Recommendation to award Bid for Bendex Air Dryers for
City Buses Bid No. 1603
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for air dryers (Heating unit used
to control excessive engine ~oisture) in the total amount of
y2),7S3.95 including applicable sales tax. Funds for this purchase
have been budgeted in account number 00-152-000.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver Bendex Air Dryers in accordance with City specifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read April 2, 1981.
Proposal forms were mailed to eight vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. One proposal was received.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Charles W. Carter Co.
in the total amount of $25,753.95, including tax, as the lowest
and best bidder.
