SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Towing Service for
Transportation, Police and Hechanical Uaintenance
Departments. Bid No. 1617
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for Towing Service in the
esti~ated total amount of $25,000.00 including applicable sales
tax. Funds for th~s purchase have been budgeted in account
numbers 00152-000 (Transportation $22,000) 01300-301-000-292
(Police ~1,500) and various account numbers (Mechanical Maintenance
$1,500)
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver Towing Service in accordance with City specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read May 28, 1981. Proposal
fOTIils were nailed to fifteen vendors and notices were advertised
in accordance with City Charter and tlunicipal Code provisi@ns.
Two proposals were received.
Recornmendation
It is recommended that the aw'ard be made to Hilson and Vallely
Towing, Inc. in the estimated total amount of $25,000.00, including
tax, as the lowest and be#)t b'dder.
