SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver Two, Three and Four
Cubic Yard Front Loading Refuse Bins, Bid #2819
Introduction
This report recommends award of bid to furnish and deliver two, three and four cubic yard
front loading refuse bins for the Solid Waste Management Division, Environmental &
Public Works Management Department, at specified unit prices, including applicable sales
tax with two one-year renewal options. The estimated annual expenditure is $75,000.
Background
The Solid Waste Management Division replaces refuse bins throughout the year as they
became old, worn or unusable. Rear loading refuse bins incompatible with new collection
vehicles will also be phased out.
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published November 19 and 24, 2000) in
accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on
December 5, 2000. Proposal forms were mailed to four vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals

Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2819 be made to Consolidated Fabricators Corp., in

as the lowest responsible bidder.
