SUBJECT: Recommendation to A,Jard Bid for Auto~oti ve Filters.
Bid No. 1633
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for various types of automotive
filters in the approxi8ate total amount of $10,000.00 including
applicable sales tax. Funds for this purchase have been budgeted
in account number 4l-955-100-000-000, Transportation Deuartment.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver various automotive filters in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read July 23, 1981. Proposal forms \lere mailed to sixteen
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Five proposals
were rece~ved as noted on the attached recapitulation. The low bid
on item #1 by OPS is not of sufficient total value to warrant a
separate purchase order to OPS for this single item since the need
for only approxi8ate1y 35 of those filters is anticipated during
the life of this contract. Administrative cost due to the extra
purchase order would be h~gher than the amount that could be
saved in this instance.
Reconnendation
It is recoTIill1ended that the award be made to Mr. Parts Division of
Sunbelt Distributing, 2981 E. La Pal~a,
