SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid for Furnishing and Installing
a 210 H.P. Diesel Engine. Bid No. 1639
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for furnishing and installing
a 210 H.P. diesel engine in the total a~ount of $14,940.70
including applicable sales tax, less a $lOO.OO trade-in. Funds
for this purchase have been budgeted in account number 01-500-
46l-000-292.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish, deliver
and install a 210 H.P. diesel engine in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read on August 18, 1981. Proposal forms were mailed to eight
known suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance with
Ci ty Charter and "lunicipal Code provisions. Four proposals
were received as shovm on the attached schedule.
Re connnendat ion
It is recoQffiended that the award be made to Ray Gaskin Service,
Monrovia, CA. in the total amount of $14,940.70, including tax,
less $~OO.OO trade-in, as the ',est and best bidder.
