SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid for One New 10,000 G.V.W.
Pick-Up Truck. Bid No. 1640
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for one new 10,000 G.V.W. Pick-
up truck in the total amount of $9,689.70 including applicable sales
tax. Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account
number 27-500-443-000-401 (Recycling ProgrMil)
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver one new 10,000 G.V.W. Pick-Up Truck in accordance with
City spec~fications, b~ds were received and publicly opened and
read on August 18, 1981. Proposal forns were mailed to twenty-
two dealers and notices were advertised in accordance with
C~ty Charter and }lunicipal Code provisions. Three proposals were
received, two of which were responsive to the City's request.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Claude Short Dodge,
Santa Honica, California in the total amount of $9,689.70, including
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
