SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid for Miscellaneous
Plumbing Supplies. Bid No. 1635.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for as needed miscellaneous
plumbing supplies (not stocked in the City Central Ware-
house) from local suppliers in close proximity to the City
Yards for the period from August 1, 1981 through June 31, 1982.
Funds for these supplies have been budgeted in various
maintenance accounts in several departments.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish
miscellaneous plumbing repair supplies in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read August 3l, 1981. Proposal forms were mailed to
six local wholesale plumbing supply distributors and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter
and Municipal Code provisions. One proposal was received
from Bay Area Pipe and Supply listing prices on approximately
100 most commonly needed items used by the various departments
of the City.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Bay Area Pipe
and Supply, Santa Monica, CA., for plumbing supplies as
needed from August 1981 through June 31, 1982, at the prices
quoted, as the lowest and best bidder.
