Recommendation to Award Bid for Two Vibrating Roller
Vehicles Bid No 1684
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for two vibrating roller
vehicles in the total amount of $13,356.00 including applicable
sales tax. Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in
account number 01-500-421-000-802 (Street ~~intenance)
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver two vibrating rollers in accordance with City specifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read on October
20. 1981. Proposal forms were mailed to ten dealers and
notices were advert1sed in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were received as
follows.
Essick/Hadco Manufacturing
Ingersol-Rand Equipment Corp
$12,600.00

The proposal of Ingersoll-Rand Equipment Corporation fails to meet
specifications in that the rollers offered must be transported
by trailer attachment The specifications require ability to be
attached directly to a towing vehicle.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Essick/Hadeo
Manufacturing, Los Angeles, California in the total amount of
$l3,356.00. including tax, as the lowest and best bidder.

Mobile Street Sweepers for the Period of December 1,
1981,through November 30, 1982. Bid # 1693
Introduction
This report concerns award of hid for brooms for mobile street
sweepers in the estimated amount of $20,000.00 including applicable
sales tax. Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in
account number 01-500-461-000-292.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver brooms for mobile street sweepers in accordance with
Clty specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read October 15. 1981. Proposal forms were mailed to six
manufacturers and notices were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and MunLcipal Code provisions. Three proposals
