SUBJECT, Recommendation to Award Bid for 400 Leach Bars

Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for 400 Leach bars for use in the
Refuse collection service in the total amount of $3,678.20
including applicable sales tax Funds for this purchase have been
budgeted in account number 27-500-441-000-401 (Special Dept Supplies)
Backgroun~
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver 400 leach bars in accordance with City specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read October 22, 1981.
Proposal forms were mailed to fourteen vendors and notices were
advertised ~n accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code
prOVlSlons. Three proposals were received as shown on the
attached schedule.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Consolidated Fabricators,
Van Nuys, California in the total amount of $3,678.20, including
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
