Weight Truck with Container Lifting Device Installed

Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for a container handling truck
in the total amount of $18,757.76 including applicable sales
tax. Funds for this purchase are in the following accounts
27-500-44l-000A802 $4,757.76 and 27-500-441-000-803 $14,000.00.

Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver one container handling truck in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read on November 3, 1981. Proposal forms were mailed to eighteen
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code Provisions. Two proposals were
received as follows.

Bowles $19,345 00
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Ray Gaskin Co.,
Monrovia, California in the total amount of $18,757.76, including
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
