Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
miscellaneous
lumber products
for
the
Public
Facilities
Maintenance Division, General services Department, at specified
unit prices, plus applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published June 5
and 8, 1992) to furnish and deliver miscellaneous lumber products
in accordance with City specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on June 22, 1992. Proposal forms were
mailed to nine vendors and notices were advertised in accordance
with city Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three proposals
were received as follows:

drawer guides, hinges and other miscellaneous building materials.
staff has evaluated the Iml bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1992/93 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Public Facilities Maintenance Division, General Services
Department, account number 01-400-451-00000-4401-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2416 be made to
Southland Lumber & Supply company at specified unit prices, plus
applicable sales tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
