SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Material, Tools
and Labor to Repair Transit Coach Seats, Bid #2419
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to provide material, tools and
labor to repair transit coach seats for the Transportation
Department, at specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax,
and two one-year options.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published June 12
and 15, 1992) to provide material, tools and labor to repair
transit coach seats in accordance with City specifications, bids
\vere received and publicly opened and read on June 29, 1992.
Proposal forms were mailed to two vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance '..,i th City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:

Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1992/93 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Transportation Department, account number
41-600-657-00000-5501-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2419 be made to Sardo
Bus & Coach Upholstery at specified unit prices, plus applicable
tax, and two one-year options, as the lowest and best bidder.
