SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
One (1) New 14 Cubic Foot Gasoline Powered Sweeper,
Bid 2185
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new 14 cubic foot gasoline powered sweeper for the Pier
Management Division, General Services Department, in the total
amount of $16,821.68, including applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
October 27 and 28, 1988) to furnish and deliver one (1) new 14
cubic foot gasoline powered sweeper in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on November 8, 1988. Proposal forms were mailed to five vendors
and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions.
Three proposals were received as

Tennant Company
$20,686.56

staff has evaluated the low bid and finds it meets City specifi-
cations.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year ~988/89 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the pier Management Division, General Services Department,
account number 30-500-625-000-806.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2~85 be made to
Clarklift of Los Angeles in the total amount of $16,821. 68,
including tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
