SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver One
(1) New Cab and Chassis with Service Type Body,
Bid 2189
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new cab and chassis with service type body for the Water
Division, General Services Department, in the total amount of
$16,059.32, including applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 9 and 12, 1988) to furnish and deliver one (1) new cab
and chassis with service type body in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on October 4, 1988.
Proposal forms were mailed to five (5)
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Three proposals were
received as follows:

staff has evaluated the bids and finds that the low bid meets
City specifications.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1988/89 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Water Division, General Services Department, account
number 25-500-671-000-806.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2189 be made to William
L. Morris Chevrolet in the total amount of $16,059.32,including
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
