SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver One
(1) New 3/4 Ton Cab and Chassis with special Bin
Handling BodYI Bid 2184
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new 3/4 ton cab and chassis with special bin handling body for
the Solid Waste Management Division, General services Department,
in the total amount of $21,378.81, including applicable sales
tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
September 16 and 19, 1988) to furnish and deliver one (1) new 3/4
ton cab and chassis with special bin handling body in accordance
with City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read on October II, 1988. Proposal forms were mailed to nine
(9) vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Three proposals were
received as follows:

staff has evaluated the bids and finds that the low bid meets
City specifications.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1988/89 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Solid Waste Management Division,
General Services
Department, account number 27-500-441-000-806.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2184 be made to Thorson
GMC Buick in the total amount of $21,378.81, including tax, as
the lowest and best bidder.
