SUBJECT: Reconunendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Miscellaneous Air, oil and Fuel Filters for GMC and
Flxible Transit Coaches, Bid 2204
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
miscellaneous air, oil and fuel filters for the Transportation
Department, at specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
December 26 and 27, 1988) to furnish and deliver miscellaneous
air, oil and fuel filters in accordance with city specifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read on January 5,
1989.
Proposal forms were mailed to five vendors and notices
were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions. Three proposals were received as follows:

staff has evaluated the bids and finds Graham Brake & Diesel
meets City specifications.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
As the materials are drawn out of inventory, they will be
expensed against available FY 1988/89 appropriation authority in
the Transportation Department.
For the period July I, 1989,
through January 31, 1990, funds will be as set forth in the
FY 1989/90 budget.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2204 be made to Graham
Brake & Diesel at specified unit prices, plus applicable sales
tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
