SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Trinuning of
Ficus Trees, Phoenix Palms, Washingtonia Robusta Palms,
Podacarpus and Liquid Ambar Trees, Bid 2203
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to provide trimming of
miscellaneous trees for the Cultural and Recreation Services
Department, at specified unit prices.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
December 26 and 27, 1988) to provide trimming of miscellaneous
trees in accordance with City specifications, bids were received
and publicly opened and read on January 10, 1989. Proposal forms
were mailed to seven vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Five
proposalS were received as follows:

city specifications.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1988/89 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the capital Improvement Program budget, Recreation and
cultural program category, account number 01-740-511-000-925,
"Tree Trimming."
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2203 be made to united
Pacific Corp. at specified unit prices, as the lowest and best
bidder.
