SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Provide Material, Tools
and Labor to Repair Transit Coach Seats, Bid #2215
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to provide material, tools and
labor to repair transit coach seats for the Transportation
Department, at specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax,
with two one-year options.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
April 13 and 14, 1989) to provide material, tools and labor to
repair transit coach seats in accordance with City specifi-
cations, bids were received and publicly opened and read on
~pril 27, 1989. Proposal forms were mailed to three vendors and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions.

specifications
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1989/90 appropriation authority for this purchase
is in
the
Transportation
Department,
account
number
41-600-657-000-304.
For the period July 1,
1989,
through
June 30, 1990, appropriation authority will be as set forth in
the FY 1989/90 budget.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2215 be made to Sardo
Bus & Coach Upholstery at specified unit prices, plus applicable
sales tax, with two one-year options, as the lowest and best
bidder.
