Services for the City of Santa Monica Transportation
Facilities, Bid #2218
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to provide Janitorial serv1ces
for the Transportation Department, for a one-year per10d per
specif~ed unit prices, including applicable sales tax, and two
one-year renewal options.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting B1ds (published May 4
and 5, 1989) to provide janitorial services for a period of one
year, in accordance with city specifications, bids were received
and publ~cly opened and read on May 30, 1989.
Proposal forms
were mailed to eight vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with city Charter and Munic1pal Code provisions. Two
proposals were received as follows:

Fiscal Year 1989/90 appropriation author1ty for this purchase is
in the Transportation Department, account number 41-600-657-000-
304.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2218 be made to Pacif1c
Sun Maintenance for a one-year period per specified unit prices,
including applicable sales tax, and two one-year renewal options,
as the lowest and best bidder.
