SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Receptacles, Box switch/Outlet, SW1tches, Transformers,
Wires and Miscellaneous Electrical Supplies, Bid #2221
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
receptacles, box switch/outlet, switches, transformers, wires and
miscellaneous electrical supplies, for a one-year period, at
specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to pUbliShed Notices Inviting Bids (published May 10
and 11, 1989) to furnish and deliver receptacles, box switch/
outlet, sW1tches, transformers, wires and miscellaneous elec-
trical supp11es in accordance with City specifications, bids were
recelved and publicly opened and read on June 1, 1989. Proposal
forms were mailed to nineteen vendors and notices were advertised
in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Two proposals were received as follows:

staff has evaluated the low bid and rinds that 1t meets city
specifications.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
"
Fiscal Year 1988/89 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the maintenance accounts of various departments.
As the
materials are drawn out of inventory, they will be expensed
against available FY 1988/89 appropriation authority.
For the
period July 1, 1989, through June 30, 1990, appropriation
authority will be as set forth in the FY 1989j90 budget.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2221 be made to Crown
Wholesale Electric at specified unit prlces, plus applicable
sales tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
