SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
Directional Signs, Bid #2240
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver
directional signs for the parking and Traffic Division, General
services Department, at specified unit prices, plus applicable
sales tax.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published July 26
and 27, 1989) to furnish and deliver directional signs in
accordance with city specifications, bids were received and
publicly opened and read on August 22, 1989. Proposal forms were
mailed to three vendors and notices were advertised in accordance
with city Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three proposals
were received as follows:

Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Fiscal Year 1989/90 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the capital Improvement budget, streets, Traffic and Parking
category, account number 01-770-416-000-952, "Directional/street
Name sign Program."
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2240 be made to Maneri
Sign Company at specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax,
as the lowest and best bidder.
