SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver 900
Ultra Low Flow Toilets, Bid #2253
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver 900
ultra low flow toilets for the Water Division, General services
Department, at specified unit prices, including applicable sales
tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
october 2 and 3, 1989) to furnish and deliver 900 ultra low flow
toilets in accordance with City specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read on October 12, 1989.
Proposal forms were mailed to twenty-eight (28) vendors and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions.

Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1989/90 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Water Division, General Services Department, account
number 25-500-671-00000-4439-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2253 be made to Rainbow
at specified unit prices, including applicable tax, as the lowest
and best bidder.
