SUBJECT. Purchase of Parts for Mobile Air Unit
Surmnary
ThlS report will recommend the appropriation of $7t500 to purchase components
for a mob11e air compressing unit for the Flre Department.
Background
The Fire Department budget for fiscal 1980-81 contained sufficient funds for
the purchase of component parts for a mobile air unit. The mobile unit will
provlde the capability to refill breathing apparatus at the scene of an ex-
tended fire emergency.
The budgeted funds reverted to the General Fund on July 1. 1981t due to an
lnability to complete the purchase prior to the fiscal year deadlines.
Recommendation
It 1S requested and recommended City Council approprlate $7t500 to the Fire
Department budget for purchase of the component parts for the mobile alr
compressor unit.
