Authorize Transfer of Funds -- General Services Department
Information
This report recommends that the Council authorlze the transfer of $5,500
from the Mall Maintenance Account to the Vehicle Replacement Account, and
the authorization to use $21,000, WhlCh 1S in the Vehicle Replacement
Account, together with the $5,500 to replace the asphalt patch truck which
is completely worn out.
Background
The asphalt patch truck Number 398 is completely worn out and was scheduled
for replacement in the current year's budget. Subsequently, because of
necessary budget cuts, this vehicle, together with many others, was deleted
from the approved budget. The Staff has been attempting to make thlS truck
last, but recently the truck lost its brakes and was in a minor accident.
Necessary funds for the replacement of this vehicle can be made available
by transferring money from the Mall Maintenance Account and by using a
portion of the funds in the Vehicle Replacement Account which was author1zed
for the purchase of a street sweeper. The street sweeper is currently being
refurbished rather than being replaced, thus resulting in savings of 521,000.
