It is requested that the Councll discuss its opposition to Mayor Bradley's
and the Los Angeles City Councll's approval of allol-ling oil dnlling in
Pacific Palisades.
ThlS particularly affects Santa Monica as it opens
the door for drilling ln the Santa Monica Bay.

14-A: EXPLORATORY OIL WELLS/RIVIERA COUNTRY CLUB: Presented was
the request of Councllmember Reed to dlSCUSS the Chevron
application to drill exploratory oil wells at Riviera Country
Club. Councilmember Reed introduced discussion in regard to the
Water Reservoir under the Club's ten~is courts and the Clty
dlstributlon ll~es. Discussion was held. Cou~cllmember Reed
moved to author lze staff to communlcate co~cerns regard lng the
safety of the Clty'S water syste~ and any other relevant concerns
and l"lform Councll of actions taken. Second by l<1ayor Edwards.
