Push Cart Vendors
I have received several complalnts dealing with the problem of push-cart
vendars~ first from the Maln Street organlzation and now from Mr. Thomas
Bell (whose letter you all recelved).
I belleve that the City Counel1 should address the questlon of permltting
these vendors to operate 1n the Clty. I am concerned that a policy
applled uniformly in the past~ not permltting vendors~ has been set aside
by admlnistratlve act10n. If we are to change th1S long held policy of
the City not allowlng these vendors, I believe that the proposed change in
polley should be fully discussed at a Council meetlng.
I am not ask1ng for the matter to be discussed thlS evenlng~ but would
llke to see lt agendlzed soon for a full public discuss1on.
