l3-K: OFFSHORE OIL LEASE OCS NO. 53: Presented was the request of
Mayor Yannatta Goldway for d~scussion in regard to jo~ning other
jurisdictions by retaining Joint counsel to intervene in l~tigation on
Off-shore O~l Lease oes No. 53 and appropriation of $500 for that
effort. Mayor Yannatta Goldway moved to reta~n Jo~nt counsel along
with other Jur~sd~ct~ons to intervene in litigat~on on Offshore Oil
Lease OCS No. 53 and authorize an appropriation of $500 for that
effort. Second by Councilmember Press. Follow~ng discussion, Mayor
Pro Temoore Edwards moved a substitute motion to author~ze -----
part~c~pat~on of the City of Santa Monica ~n intervening ~n the lawsuit
on Offshore Oil Lease oes No. 53 subJect to the C~ty Attorney's office
approving the co~pla~nt and intervention. Second by Counc~lmember
Conn. The mot~on was approved by the following vote:
Council Vote: Unan~mously approved 6-0
